What a great use for Chestnuts!!!

The holiday season is over and we are beginning to get back into a routine. At times it seems that routine is just as busy as the holiday season. We hope that everyone experienced God's wonderful love and blessings over Christmas and the New Year!

We had a wonderful and busy Christmas spent in Michigan with Jeanette's family. Christmas Eve day we spent the morning enjoying the 8 inches of snow on the ground by building snow forts with Jeanette's niece. After some card games we had a Chinese dinner prepared by Jeanette's mom and then to Christmas Eve service. early on Christmas Eve Santa delivered an extra special surprised when Jeanette's Aunt came down from northern MI for Christmas!!

Christmas morning started early at Jeanette's brother's to see what Santa had brought! After a little Rock Band on the Wii it was back to Jeanette's parents' for lunch and more gifts. A few of the exciting gifts: a jack and jackstands, books, clothes, decorations, games, and Jeanette has referred to it as the best gift ever, an electric blanket (with dual controls). Also included was a trip to Cancun next winter for the whole family! As you see from the picture we will be styling!
Cancun or bust!
I didn't know you could do that with a slinky!
Jammin'
The next two days entailed a lot of car shopping. It seems our car ordeals haven't been settled. During the trip our we had a stop at Chuck E. Cheese's to celebrate with a special little girl on her 7th birthday! I am not sure who had the most fun with all the games. In the end we left the Jetta in MI and came home with Jeanette's Dad's Golf, saving car searching for another season.
After several days at work it was off to Harman on New Year's Eve to spend time with family, including my Aunt, Uncle, and cousins in from Kentucky. After a very snowy drive we made it to my Grandparents for delicious lasagna and an evening of games. I rang in the new year with a wonderful embrace from my wife! New Year's day was spent helping Dad outside, making homemade donuts, and then back up to Grandpa and Grandma's for gifts and a turkey dinner. Again we were blessed with many gifts including an air mattress, treestand safety harness, and giftcard to Petco! (we'll share more on that later :) )

That is just a brief overview of our holidays. We were blessed with so many awesome gifts and such wonderful time with family!
